Today, Sonam Kapoor married her long-time boyfriend Anand Ahuja in a traditional Anand Karaj wedding ceremony at her aunt’s Mumbai residence, Riverdale, at Bandra’s Bandstand and it was just breathtaking! If the Instagram stories and posts are anything to go by, it was definitely a wedding affair to remember – #Sonamkishaadi!

She is officially ‘Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’ now (as her sister Rhea Kapoor’s instagram post also reveals it)!

Here’s looking at Mrs. Ahuja’s dulhan avatar:

Sonam chose to wear an ornate red and gold Anuradha Vakil lehenga for the ceremony and looked phenomenal as the punjabi bride. She kept the makeup very simple and let all the attention be at on her royal headgear.

This is what Namrata Soni, her makeup artist had to say about her look, “There’s tears in my eyes. I think she’s the most beautiful bride of our country; as delicate as a flower. It’s an extremely emotional time for me.”

Totally digging her bridal jewellery with hints of blue on it. It’s something very refreshing with all the emerald jewellery often spotted on the brides donning a red lehenga!

When you see her complete look, her princess-like headpiece explains the subtlety of the makeup — this gorgeous set commands all the attention.

“For the hair, she’s wearing a beautiful antique headpiece like the maharajas and maharanis used to, that comes with a maang tikka and matha patti. We’ve done a simple bun with mogras at the back—the headpiece is so stunning that it’s the centre of the entire look,” says her hairstylist.
