Montek & Navneet Lavasa : A destination wedding in Lavasa filled with loads of fun and love!

Montek & Navneet Lavasa : A destination wedding in Lavasa filled with loads of fun and love!

Sometimes, it doesn’t take much time to realise you have found ‘the one’. This stands true for Montek and Navneet. There was no need to pretend and they presented their true selves from the very beginning.

How They Met
Montek and Navneet met through family friends and connected with each other on social media. They spoke to each other for the first time after two months of banter on social media. That call lasted for almost 7 hours – the first indication that perhaps this was it. Finally, when they met, Montek and Navneet knew they were going to be together.

The Proposal
Montek met Navneet for their first date at the Taj Falaknuma Palace, Hyderabad. In that same moment, Montek went ahead and proposed to Navneet by presenting her with an anklet. In ancient times, anklets were gifted to the bride-to-be by the groom as a symbol of love and for her hand in marriage.

The Wedding Planning
Montek and Navneet always wanted to get married near a lake. Since Montek’s family owns a resort in Lavasa, things really worked out in the couple’s favour and their destination wedding seemed like a great opportunity for their friends and family to bond. Both of them come from joint families so all the work and responsibilities were evenly distributed between them. The one thing that they kept in mind while planning the wedding was to use faux flowers throughout the celebrations since real ones go to waste after serving their one-time purpose.

Their wedding dates were decided as the 13th, 14th and 15th January, 2o19. This was done keeping in mind that 13th was Lohri and they hosted an intimate family dinner centred around the theme of ‘Punjabi Village’.

Day 1: Mehendi & Ring Ceremony
14th January, the first day of celebrations kick-started with a Mehendi ceremony themed as ‘Kite-festival’ since it was taking place on Makar Sankranti. Navneet chose a pretty yellow and white lehenga with the choli embroidered with small flowers. She accessorised her outfit with floral jewellery. Montek chose a pastel pink asymmetrical bandhgala kurta.

As the evening rolled on, everyone changed into something more befitting for the ‘Amber Black with Crystals and Lights’ theme for the Sangeet and Ring Ceremony. The bride wore a dark grey Gaurav Gupta creation with a ruffle blouse while the groom went for a black asymmetrical bandhgala kurta.

Day 2: Anand Karaj
The pastel-themed Anand Karaj took place the next morning by the lake. Navneet wore a lilac lehenga from Palki, Kolkata. Her beautiful lehenga and choli sported a quilted designed and lotus embroidered in golden thread. Her stunning jewellery included an offbeat choker with square-like designs, followed by ornate chandbali-like pendant with rice pearls. Montek went for a pastel blue bandhgala kurta and cream pants. He accesorised his wedding day look with a rust pink shawl and pastel blue shoes.
